Zoom, pan and full screen
Zoom with the buttons or Ctrl + scroll, drag to pan, and open any diagram full screen. Links in the diagram work.

Pages load as you open them. A 13 MB, 82-page file shows its first page in three to four seconds, and repeat views are near instant.
Confluence and Jira
A macro for pages and a panel for issues. The Jira panel lists every .vsdx on the issue, so you can switch between them.

Attach the file
Drag your .vsdx onto a Confluence page or a Jira issue, like any other attachment.
Add the diagram
In the page editor, type /Definitive Diagrams and pick the file. On a Jira issue, choose Apps → Definitive Diagrams.
Keep it current
Upload a new version of the file with the same name and the page shows it. Nothing to re-embed.

Your diagrams never leave Atlassian
Definitive Diagrams runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform and is eligible for the Runs on Atlassian program. Each file goes from Atlassian's cloud straight to the reader's browser and is drawn there. Nothing is sent to us, to Microsoft or to anyone else.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Which files does it show?
Visio drawings saved as .vsdx or .vsdm, the format Visio has used since 2013. For older .vsd files, open them in Visio and save as .vsdx. More on file types.
Do readers need Visio or Microsoft 365?
No. The diagram is drawn in the reader's browser from the attached file. Anyone who can see the page or issue can see the diagram.
Does my data leave Atlassian?
No. Definitive Diagrams runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform ("Runs on Atlassian"). Files go from Atlassian straight to the reader's browser, and the app makes no outside connections.
Can people edit the diagram in Confluence?
No, it's a viewer. Edit the file in Visio and upload it again with the same name; the page shows the new version automatically.
Will it look exactly like Visio?
Very close. If a reader's computer doesn't have a font the diagram uses, a similar one is used, so text can shift slightly. Some decorative fill patterns are simplified.
What happens if we uninstall?
Your .vsdx files stay attached to their pages and issues. Pages show a placeholder where the diagram was until you remove it.
